Happy Kids with Books

New Library.

"Research shows that when children read for pleasure, they get better grades at school, show more empathy towards others and report higher levels of well-being", affirms the Literacy Trust.

The current space urgently needs a makeover to create an inviting atmosphere for browsing books and a comfortable seating area for reading. Most of the books are currently organised in plastic boxes, which does not showcase their potential. The total cost of the new library is £21,000.

Library Project

The current library is in the middle of a corridor within the main building. We want to create space where students can read quietly and get into your books. Beth Ivey, who is an interior designer, will help us to make the best use of the space. We're also adding a heritage wall showcasing pictures and stories of the school. Our library project is all about creating an inviting space that sparks a love for reading. We’re adding wall panels to keep noise down and smart shelves to show off our book collection. A beautiful mural inspired by Epping Forest will bring a calm, nature-filled vibe, and we’ve chosen warm colours and comfy seating to make the space feel like a true reading nook.

Outdoor Education

Outdoor Learning.

The school possess an outstanding and underutilised outdoor space. We want to restore the kitchen garden and implement  outdoor learning as part of the academic curriculum. The kitchen gardening club and outdoor learning are all about having fun while learning in nature!

Natural Escape developed a beautiful project for Yardley School - Outdoor learning project. The investment to implement all year around outdoor classroom is £50,000. And the Kitchen Garden will cost £30 per child per school year.

Outdoor Learning Project

Natural Escapes has developed an amazing plan with a beautiful canopy kite that can be used all year round, a fire pit, a storyteller corner, a den-building kit, a bug hotel, and a bird scramble nest. Outdoor learning is incredibly important for primary school children as it provides hands-on experiences, promotes physical activity and healthy lifestyles, enhances social and emotional development, encourages curiosity and exploration, fosters a deeper connection with nature, and improves overall academic engagement and achievement. See the current space and the plan to transform it.

Kids in Slide

Early Years Playground.

Currently, the  early years playground space primarily features a large centerpiece slide. Our vision is to transform this area into a dynamic playground that offers our little learners a rich outdoor experience. We’re thrilled to announce that, thanks to your votes in local Tesco stores through the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme, our project came in second place and has been awarded a fantastic £1,000 grant!  We still need your support to raise £4,500 to bring this project to life.

Early Years Playground Project

Natural Escapes has developed an amazing plan with a mud kitchen, trim trail, and tool workbench station complete with a chalkboard. By creating this engaging outdoor environment, we aim to promote exploration, imaginative play, physical development, and a love for outdoor exploration enhancing their overall development and well-being among young children.
