I’m sure we’re all hoping for some consistent sunshine after enduring our fair share of April showers. Despite our weather feeling stuck in winter, the PTA is diving headfirst into summer vibes! Get ready to know everything behind the scenes with the Yardley Summer Fair 2024, from project updates to new fundraising initiatives.
Fundraising Initiatives and how can you help?
As you know, we are planning to revamp the library (initial cost of £16K), improve the early years playground (initial cost of £5K) and implement the gardening club & outdoor learning (initial cost of £50K). While we have applied for several grants and are awaiting results, they will only cover part of the costs.
To bridge the gap, we partnered with Easy Fundraising (please join our page), and we are currently looking into affiliate programs that might benefit our community; we should have updates soon. Furthermore, we are setting up our page on Neighbourly. This platform will help us connect with companies offering surplus materials and donation opportunities and hopefully help us reduce the acquisition cost of paint, rugs, furniture, etc. But we believe in the power of our community and think we all have more to offer. Here's how you can help:
Nominate Us: If you or someone you know works with TESCO, nominating our "Early Years Playground" project could significantly boost our chances of being selected and winning the £1,500 grant.
Grant Applications: We need volunteers to assist the school and us with grant applications. Many of these applications have tight deadlines and require a lot of information. The PTA committee is currently at full capacity, and we are missing out on opportunities. If you can help, please send us a message.
Support Our Projects: Learn about our needs—furniture, books, or gardening supplies—and spread the word. You never know who might be able to help. If you have a trading company, you might be able to support us by reducing acquisition costs.
Corporate Sponsorship: Does your company support community initiatives? We'd love to discuss how they can sponsor and make a difference.
If you think you can collaborate, please get in touch with us.

School Heritage Project.
In 2024, Yardley Primary School is celebrating its 85th anniversary. As we cherish this milestone, we reflect on the achievements and memories that define our school. The PTA invites you to be part of our journey by creating a milestone wall.
In April, we shared a series of photos from the school archive, seeking former students and teachers to help the PTA retell the school's legacy to new generations. The response on social media was incredible! We'll soon meet with volunteers to curate the best photos from each decade for our milestone wall.
Celebrating the school's legacy honours the institution's history, achievements, and contributions to the community. It promotes a sense of pride, strengthens community bonds, and inspires current and future generations, creating a shared identity and appreciation for the school's lasting impact. If you'd like to join the meeting or have stories or photos to share, please email us at yardleypta@gmail.com.
Join our social media and support the project sharing the posts on your feed or stories. We are on Facebook and Instagram (@yardleypta).
