Updated: Apr 3

We've had a fantastic few weeks—cake sales, bingo night, the Mother's Day stand—and we're ending the term with an unmissable family party!  Check out the newsletter for details on upcoming events and an exciting update on the Kitchen Garden Club for KS2 and Forest School for KS1.

Volunteers Needed

We need around 20 volunteers to support the Family Day Event with the set up from 1:00 PM, support PTA Stand sales, sell raffle tickets, checkin people for the show, control access at the hall and putting away everything after the event. Please contact your class rep or email us if you can support even for 1h.

As a mum of three and a full-time worker, I know how busy life can be, but even one hour of your time can make a world of difference. Please continue to support the PTA—every little bit helps us create amazing experiences for our children.

Flyers Delivery & Crowdfunding Campaign

In April, we’ll be launching a social media campaign to celebrate our School Anniversary while raising awareness of our crowdfunding efforts. As you know, there’s still so much to do to improve the outdoor space for our little ones.

Last week, Dilan, Cristina, Danielle, and I distributed flyers around the school, Yardley Lane and College Gardens streets. We still have flyers that need to be delivered around Station Road and adjacent streets—this is a great way to get your steps in while supporting the school! Please contact me if you can help us to continue to distribute the flyers.

Please follow us on social media (@yardleypta), engage with our posts to boost visibility, and share our crowdfunding link with friends and colleagues. Crowdfunding page link

Family Day on 04/04 from 2:30PM - Non Uniform Day.

Please consider donating £1

Join us for an afternoon of fun! Invite the grandparents and extended family.

The school day will finish one hour early, and the PTA will be there with a drinks stand and a raffle for a basket full of goodies, generously donated by Mulalley. Tickets will be £1 on the day.

Some of our talented parents will be selling their products and donating part of their profits to the school. No need to cook dinner as you can enjoy delicious meals from Mexican Fried Chicken and Banna’s Grill. And @cakecrumbs2018 with special treats and bakes. You also will be able to enjoy cookie decorating with @cakes_crumbs_bycicek!

Talent Show We are also planning a talent show just to have fun. We encourage teachers, parents and our little ones to show off the skills and have fun. Special prizes for the best performances.

Outdoor Classroom Starting in May!

We are pleased to launch the Outdoor Classroom Pilot Programme in partnership with OrganicLea, ensuring a sustainable and enriching outdoor learning experience for our children.

We need as many volunteers as possible to bring our Outdoor Classroom to life! Thanks to the incredible efforts of the OrganicLea team and our volunteers, the space has been cleared. Now, we move on to the exciting next phase—designing the layout and building the plant beds. If you can lend a hand, please join us in making the space ready for its grand launch in May!

Kitchen Garden Club (for KS2) on Tuesdays (3:30 – 4:50 PM).

Forest School (for KS1) on Wednesdays (3:30 – 4:50 PM).

£8 per session, paid monthly in advance, max 20 children per session.

Starting Date: 06/05 and 07/05 - Confirmation depending on volunteers.

Each session will be led by two OrganicLea facilitators, who are fully trained in safeguarding and first aid, as well as certified Forest School Leaders. If you can volunteer or want to register your child, please email committee@yardleypta.co.uk

Volunteers needed

To make this programme affordable and accessible, we need volunteers! We require 2 DBS-checked volunteers per session. Full support and training provided. However, we would like to invite 6-8 volunteers to join the programme, ensuring we always have a backup if someone is unable to attend.

Mother's Day Stand

A massive thank you to Laetitia and Jianlu, whose made it possible for us to run our traditional Mother’s Day Stand. While our sales were slightly lower than expected, we still had a great outcome, and every penny raised will go directly towards PTA projects that benefit our children. We believe we could have raised even more with additional hands on deck. These events are a one-hour window of opportunity, and having more volunteers would allow us to maximise fundraising and make an even bigger impact. If you can spare even an hour of your time at future events, it would make all the difference!

Bingo Night

On Saturday 22nd March a group of Year 6 parents and children organised a bingo night to raise money for their Year 6 prom. The evening was a sell-out success, with the whole event raising £1,178 to go towards keeping the costs down for the Year 6 Prom party and leavers’ hoodies. The children sold homemade cupcakes and snacks and made loom bands, and many families and local businesses contributed fabulous raffle prizes. Thank you to all of the families who came to play bingo, bought raffle tickets and donated. We very much appreciated everyone’s help on the night as it was a great team effort! Special mention must go to Noah’s uncle Jack for donating his time and tech, and Kirsty Pridmore for lending us the scout hall. It was a wonderful community event with lots of winners!

Cake Sale Organised by Teachers

On 21st March, our incredible teachers organised a fantastic cake sale alongside a non-uniform and odd sock day to raise awareness for Down Syndrome. It was a joyful and meaningful day, with our children proudly wearing odd socks to celebrate inclusion and uniqueness. Thanks to your generosity, we raised an amazing £1,043! Every penny will go directly towards improving our sensory room, creating a more inclusive and supportive space for children with special educational needs. A massive thank you to our wonderful teachers, families, and everyone who donated, and participated.

With gratitude,

Evelin Kiss
