This is the last week before our Summer Fair! With summer still on its way in London, we'll gladly accept a forecast of no rain and 21°C. Let's try a fun experiment: there's a theory that collective desire can influence outcomes. Even if you're not superstitious, draw a sun and hang it in your window to invite the sunshine to our event with a pleasant 28 °C! They say to envision a fantastic sunny Sunday together, and it will happen!

Volunteers Needed
Our Summer Fair is a community effort, and we need your help to make it a success! The PTA will run several stalls offering affordable and fun games (£0.50 to £1), but we need volunteers to run them. We also need support during the event. We're looking for 32 enthusiastic individuals and as many strong muscles as possible for the set-up/wrap-up session, as we have 15 stalls to assemble! Please email us at committee@yardleypta.co.uk if you can lend a hand. All volunteers will get a free raffle ticket!
Social Media Corner
We invite children and adults to dress up and snap photos at our Social Media Corner. The most creative costume will win a special prize! Don't miss your chance to have fun and capture unforgettable moments. Natalie Goldie, a professional photographer, will take photos of the Summer Fair and generously make them available for free download. Be advised that photos may be used on our social media. Collect a "No Photo" sticker from her if you don't want to be photographed.
Wellness Workshop
Our Wellness Workshop is proud to partner with Nuffield Health Gym—Chingford and Gaia-Shakti. This collaboration offers our attendees a unique experience, including an exclusive class and mini health checks provided by Nuffield Health. RAFFLE - Support the Library Revamp!
As you know, we are on a mission to revamp the library before the start of the new year in September. For that to happen, we need your help! So, buy your ticket and drop it off before 20/06 at the PTA Mailbox, as we still have plenty of tickets left. Invite family and friends to buy a ticket and get a chance to win incredible prizes and £200 in cash.
Meet & Greet
We will celebrate Yardley's 85th Anniversary, a significant milestone in our community's history. We have a special guest, Mrs Margaret Harrison, the first student enrolled at Yardley School in 1939, who will share fascinating stories about the school and documents. We've also invited former students and teachers to share their memories, photos, and documents. This is a unique opportunity to connect with our community's past.
What you need to know about the Summer Fair:
The event starts at 11:00 am and finishes at 3:00 pm.
Tickets bought online for face painting will be prioritised in the queue. Make sure to secure your slot online.
Buy a wristband for unlimited play on the inflatable and selected attractions. Some attractions only accept Tokens, so we recommend buying tokens in advance. Don't forget your pocket money; the raffle and PTA Stalls only accept cash.
We have an incredible list of stalls offering children's toys, crystals, affordable clothing, hand-made bracelets, phone charms and more.
Have a lunch with us! Our food court offers BBQ, pasta, bagel sandwiches,
Caribbean and Greek cuisine. It also features Cake Crumbs, Fox and Bear, an ice cream
van, a slush stand, and free popcorn.
Enjoy free entertainment with dance presentations, Qi Gong class with Wellness Yoga Conscious School, football class with Little Kickers, cricket class with West Essex Cricket Club, live music, and a visit from a magical fairy distributing free twisted balloons for the little ones.
Homing Pigeon Corner
As the end of the academic year approaches, we've created the Homing Pigeon Corner for you to write a heartfelt thank you note to your favourite teacher, classmate, or anyone who deserves a big "Thank You!"
If you want to share your gratitude with the world, we will select some letters to post on our social media channels.
Fundraising Initiatives
Easy Fundraising will support our Summer Fair and will donate £2 for each person who downloads the app and follows our page from 18/06 to 02/07. With Easy Fundraising, we receive a donation every time you shop online at no cost to you. Link
Tesco Strong Starts
I am delighted to inform you that our application to Tesco Stronger Starts has been approved. Our project - Early Years Playground, will be put forward for a customer vote in Tesco stores. Voting will commence in-store from the first week of July 2024 until the end of September 2024. Three projects will compete for votes. The project with the highest number of votes across the region will receive £1,500, the second-placed project £1,000, and the third-placed project £500. We will soon announce more details and how you can support us in the next newsletter.

Amazon Affiliate Program
Yardley PTA has submitted a request to join the Amazon Affiliate program, which will give us the opportunity to earn 0.5% to 12% in commission on selected products. We will provide more information soon. Keep your fingers crossed for a quick approval!
